Join the Ukrainian refugee Care team

Trinity will be welcoming mother and daughter Lena and Anya Bondar at the end of the September. They have been seeking a US sponsor to help them resettle in the US from their home in Odesa, Ukraine. We were connected to them through Mission to the World missionaries in a Presbyterian church there. We are thrilled to share that their visa applications have been approved and they will be traveling to Norfolk at the end of September!

There are many ways that you can help, both big and small! 
  • I would like to serve on the welcome team and help Lena and Anya settle into Norfolk during their first month. 
  • I would like to be on the ongoing care team, helping in various ways as I’m able.
  • I am able to host Lena and Anya in my home for a month or more (we are still looking for a few hosts to help us cover their first months with us)
  • I know of a room or apartment for rent that might be a good fit for Lena and Anya either now or down the road.
  • I can offer rides occasionally.
  • I would like to help Lena and Anya learn to drive as a supplement to their driver’s ed course. 
  • I would like to help navigate the medical system and get Lena and Anya set up with local doctors. 
  • I would like to help Anya navigate the educational system (most likely part time or full time local college classes)
  • I would like to help navigate applying for the government services that will be available to them (SNAP, Medicaid, etc.)
  • I’m not sure yet but I’m interested to stay in the loop. Please add me to the church center group!
